What is Modswap SMP?
Modswap SMP is an immersive Minecraft roleplay SMP with a specific focus on the interpersonal conflicts between large groups of people and the power and utility of different sets of mods.A modpack has been specifically designed for this event and each faction gets a number of mods only they can use (e.g. the Tech faction would have tech-based mods and could not used Magic's magic-based mods). However, here's where the main gimmick comes in! Factions can SWAP their mods! By executing a majority vote, factions can use their mods as powerful bargaining chips just like diamonds or other resources! You can trade mods for anything including other mods.
Who can be a part of Modswap?
Modswap is a content creator SMP. This means that players will usually be expected to stream and reupload VODs of their point of views. Those that are able are also highly encouraged to make edited versions as long or as short as they wish. Please note that both staff and participants must be 18+ years old.

What's Season 2 of Modswap about?
Season 2 of Modswap's themes are two-fold, much like it's name. Dungeons & Debtors has two main concepts: the first is its inspirations from the popular TTRPG, Dungeons & Dragons. The second, its theme: Money.Much like D&D, the goal is to present participants with an established world they can interact with and change, similar to how TTRPG parties can influence the world of the Dungeon Master. While similar in the sense of the general fantasy setting, Modswap will take steps to ensure it is clearly distinct.Money, as a general concept, also makes heavy waves as a central theme. Nearly anything in Dungeons & Debtors can be purchased with Gold Coins - just like in D&D! This allows us to tell a story about money and its corrupting influence on the world.
How long will the SMP run for?
Modswap is not a 24/7 SMP. There will be scheduled main/roleplay sessions at people's availability, around 4 hours long. There will be separate Build Days where roleplay is halted so people can gather resources, build, make their bases look pretty, and generally just have fun! The Build Days will run for a full 24 hour period on their scheduled days to account for time zones and getting to know your fellow Player behind the Character.

Staff Roles & Responsibilities
General Staff/NPC - The NPCs for this project are the most roleplay intense position of any others (including the Players). Your main responsibility would be to embody your character in a way that is immersive to the Players. This includes working with staff to determine Player reputation, items available for purchase from your shop, and rumors your character may have heard.NPCs will be the General Staff of the SMP, who will also sometimes handle logistics, events, game design for dungeons, and recording/camera work.Builder - The builders of Modswap are responsible for bringing Spawn Town to life! Building the shops, buildings, and vibes are essential for this position. They will also help with Redstone contraptions and other puzzles in the SMP. Being a builder does not necessarily exclude you from being a Player, however!Helper - Testers, cameras, and general help! Helpers are for those who want to help out with the project but don't quite want the commitment of the NPC role. Being around to help out, teach, or even bugfix on the fly is essential. Like a Builder, being a Helper does not exclude you from being a Player. Just be ready for a Discord ping on occasion!
